Immigration & Buying a Home in Canada

by | Jan 22, 2021

Read and hear the recorded webinar on immigrating and settling in Canada from 4 experts from the Migrate Home team.On January 19, 2021, part of my Migrate Home team of professionals hosted a webinar on immigrating to Canada, and the home buying and settlement process.

In this article, I share the recording of this Webinar and a little detail about the professionals involved.  When people are considering moving to Canada, the process is usually long and complicated.  We can make the experience better for you.  This team of professionals can make that happen.  My commitment to you to “Simplify the complex, solve the challenges, and meet or beat client goals”.

In my part of the presentation, I addressed professionalism in addition to some basics on the housing options and process.  I used my colleagues wo joined me at the Webinar as examples of the qualify of professionalism one wants to find and add to their relocation team.

Read below the biographies of each panelist, and follow this link for the whole presentation video we recorded at the live event last week.  The slides and this video will be issued to each of the 139 registrants for our event.  If you missed this event but may have questions or an interest in these topics, please reach out to me and I can help direct you or get copies of the panelist slides.  Particularly for immigration law, tax law, and financing requirements for New Comers to Canada, the detail presented by the panelists was quite significant and will be very useful to you.

For great speakers, and experts in their field. Elizabeth Long, Alessandra Ocampo, Emily Miszk, and Heather MacDonaldWe covered a lot of detail starting with Alessandra Ocampo, who spoke to the tax implications for foreign investment in Canada.  Then Elizabeth Long followed up with a detailed presentation of the immigration process and opportunity and dispelled some significant pieces of disinformation that get circulated by unscrupulous people (and so-called professionals).

Emily Miszk did a great job of telling us about the do’s and don’ts of financing or mortgaging property as a new resident in Canada.

I rounded out the discussion on professionalism and some basics around finding and acquiring the place to live with your family.

Her purpose is to simplify the complex, solve the challenges, and reach or beat client goals.  Heather comes to the business of real estate and relocation, 12 years now, with a background in finance, marketing, coaching sports, project management, and a specialty in innovation and service design.
