Great Client Partnerships

by | Jun 3, 2020

When you think all is lost, or at least tough, along come some great people.  This was my experience during the Pandemic of 2020 – COVID-19.  In this article, my clients and I tell a story that exemplifies the creativity and tenacity of the human spirit.

10% of people with a real estate license do 90% of the work.  This is a long-standing fact.  This was more than true in the early weeks of the COVID-19 Pandemic of 2020.  Everything changed in a blink after March 17th in Ontario and the few Realtors who were working did well to be the flexible innovators.  Believe me, we were innovating hourly to stay ahead of the changes to how we could do business, but it paid off for us.  So how do you find a good Realtor?

If you are going to invest in something, do it right.  Finding a good Realtor to really have your back, and my personal interest of finding a good client, are the same path.  Build relationships for the future.  This is true in any part of your life, but when we are talking about the biggest asset you may ever own, and the place you call home, it is the key to success.

I visit about 2,000 homes every quarter, in person, knock on their door and say hello.  It is about building relationships over time, so I am there, and they know me, when my services are needed.  And, sometimes – many times – there is some small way I can help in the moment.  I start with a first name, and I build the relationship from there.

I met these very clients this way, December 5, 2016, and that cute little girl in their video below was just a baby in Mom’s arms.  That was their start, and you can bet they watched what I was doing in the neighbourhood, researched me online, and at least glanced at the quarterly material I dropped off.  And, when they reached out in January 2020, they also went through the presentation meetings to hear exactly what we could do for them and how we do our work.  They paid attention, remembered me, and did their due diligence.  That is how I find good clients, and you find a good Realtor.

Every situation is different, every client is different, therefore every project I work on requires some creativity on my part to do what I do best.  Simplify the complex, solve the challenges, and meet or beat the goals.  But it really heats up nicely when we get a solid partnership going.

Communication is critical, and to be fair it is intense – we can be in constant communication daily as we prepare the property for the market and work out all the logistics that are impacted for the family.  I can say this family was so incredibly good at working as a partner – I was blessed.  When the situation gets stressed at any point and given the pandemic environment it did – the trust and communication is critical.  That is where solid relationships – business relationships with professionals you made an effort to choose – make you look like a hero in the eyes of your family, friends, and neighbours.

Check out our little introduction video to 474 Chantenay Drive, Mississauga AND the wonderful family thank you my clients compiled and posted on my personal Facebook page.  So cute.  And, experience what was our first every Live Feed Virtual Open House by visiting my FB Business page.  There were some funny moments, and the upload after did not record clearly but you get the picture. And if we can’t laugh at our self what’s the point? ;- )
